B: Troubleshooting
Before troubleshooting your Server, ensure that all physical connections are secure. Refer to the Installation
chapter of your Installation Guide for connection instructions. Your Installation Guide may also contain
additional troubleshooting information.
Many unexplained errors are the result of having duplicate IP addresses on the network. Ensure that your
Server has a unique IP address before proceeding.
If you are having problems operating the Server in a wireless Ethernet network, it may help to connect the
Server to a wired Ethernet network for troubleshooting.
B.1 Power-up Troubleshooting
There are several possible error situations if the LEDs do not flash.

Power-up diagnostic failure (hard-
ware failure)
Note which LED is blinking and its color, then
contact your dealer or Lantronix Technical Sup-
port.
The Server boots but does not try
to load the Flash ROM code
Press the Test/Reset button. Set DIP switch 4 to
Verbose mode. A brief description of the prob-
lem will be queued to the parallel port and
printed.
Network Error: The ACT LED will
blink yellow 2-3 times per second
A. Make sure the Ethernet network cable is prop-
erly connected and reboot the Server.
B. If option A fails to resolve the problem, reload
Flash ROM. Refer to Appendix D:.
